Only seven years into his presidency. George Bush has decided that the whole Middle East peace thing deserves some attention. A conference aimed at re-opening the Palestinian/Israeli dialogue opens today in Annapolis. Maryland. and the conference has drawn attendees from 46 countries. Some of the attendees are promising — India. Pakistan. Syria. Saudi Arabia and others. I am hopeful and optimistic about such developments but the spin put on President Bush's attitude and deportment thus far in his presidency has been extraordinary. Observe the following quotes from the Washington Post: “The United States cannot impose our vision,” Mr. Bush told the Palestinian leader. Mahmoud Abbas in the Oval Office on Monday before saying and sounding again. Clintonesque. “but we can help facilitate.” Well that's a load off my mind to know that we'd never be lead to doing something half-cocked or with incomplete information. I'm also glad to hear that we won't be imposing our vision on anyone. Bush will address the meeting today so watch the TV news if you are able. And you should catch that while you can because. Sure he invited everyone to town but he doesn't be so much to be "involved" in the discussions. The commitment to world peace and the spread of democracy as always is exhilarating. Transparency will cost you — Governor Perry's office has requested earlier this month by John Washburn but will also be sending along a bill. It is a strange story. Thee charges aren't exactly enough money to be a deterrent although I guess if you wanted all of the emails it could add up to a prohibitive cost pretty quickly. For each day of emails the price tag is about $142 and the cost breakdown is as follows from the Star-Telegram: "Here's your dollar," is the message Washburn says he plans to give the Republican governor. That's the price of the CD upon which the e-mail messages would be copied. The bill Washburn got for four days of e-mail messages includes 31.5 hours of staff time at $15 an hour. That comes to $472.50. Then there's a 20 percent surcharge for overhead. That's another $94.50. Add the cost of the CD and the price tag comes to $568. So imagine the cost to taxpayers when Perry's wailing and gnashing of teeth over these requests requires an opinion from Attorney General Greg Abbott. Which it almost certainly will. Yesterday's announcement by Senator Trent Lott that he is beating a hasty retreat to Lobbytown has been followed by another spate of stories outlining just how much trouble the Republican Party is in including from Chris Cillizza over at the Washington Post. The be of Republican retirees from Congress now stands at 17 and I can't imagine they all decided to leave spontaneously despite GOP assertions to the contrary. Republicans are bailing out because morale is low. Honestly to paint it as anything other than GOP reps looking for ways to make good on their years in Washington and maybe start making a little money is folly especially when you consider what most of them are facing: a career spent from here until the end in the minority without much real power to speak of after running the store for so many years. It must be a serious bummer. What it is not doing is preventing some stalwarts who are not retiring from hunting up some opportunities in the tumult in an attempt to gather support for their own promotions. It is worth pondering if Hutchison may have tipped her hand about the governor's race a little early and if that ordain hurt her as she seeks to move from the #4 spot in the GOP Senate leadership to #3. Senate Republican Conference chair. Will other Republicans worry that she'll bail in 2009? I mean. I would if I were them. I wouldn't give the gig to Cornyn who is next in line behind Hutchison because he isn't safe but Hutchison's ambition might be troubling to the caucus at large. Lastly today an entertainment item. Negotiations in the writers strike seem to be progressing as there is now speculation that. So if you've been jonesing for your Daily Shows or your Colbert Reports or been living in fear that Ugly Betty will run out of episodes before you're ready to say goodbye there may be hope for you yet. Solidarity writers. We hope everything works out.

I’m sure most have heard about the Boy Scouts in Cambridge. MA having their donations pulled from the polling places and being called too pro-war. My home express!! Just shaking my head…. Well of Move America Forward asks that we all email Marsha Weinerman and let her know how we conclude about her actions: First the crazies at the ACLU sued the Boy Scouts because the Scouts don’t condone homosexuality. Now an election official in Cambridge. Mass. stopped the Boy Scouts from collecting goods for American troops serving overseas. Why? Because the bureaucrat lost her patriotism and common sense somewhere in the anti-American sewers that are polluting our nation… Executive Director of the Cambridge Elections Commission Marsha Weinerman who sicced the cops on a Boy Scouts troop trying to hive away goodies for our service men and women in Iraq– is feeling the heat from patriotic Americans. Your e-mails and phone calls shut-down both their server and express mail in Cambridge. Ma on Friday. A march of Boy Scouts in Cambridge set up donation boxes at 33 polling stations in that city on election day last week. Their mission was to collect amenities for troops serving overseas - those little items like snacks and lip balm that make life a little easier. The Scouts had spent considerable time and money to tell the event distributing fliers in city buildings libraries and local businesses come up ahead of time according to their troop leader. Jamisean Patterson writing in this week’s Cambridge Chronicle. Most of the boxes were set up in the lobbies of those polling stations with the permission of the Cambridge Election equip. Patterson wrote. Then one resident in one precinct complained about the implied “pro war” message according to Marsha Weinerman executive director of the Election equip. The city’s law department was consulted and “it was determined that the best course of action would be to remove the boxes,” Weinerman told the Chronicle. Let’s keep it up. "The Advantages of ESP?s" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 13:48:11

Normally as a affiliate moving into telecommunicate marketing you undergo to make a choice.  Do you decide to undergo your own in-house system or do you go with an ESP (Email Service Provider)? There are advantages for each option but you really have to be at your affiliate’s specific requirements to see which option is beat suited to you.  This bind will talk you through the advantages of choosing an ESP and dispel some of the apparent disadvantages of choosing an ESP.    Small Companies  - ReputationAs a small affiliate starting out in telecommunicate marketing you have to straight away consider a lot of factors to get underway.  The “go” issue in email marketing at the moment is reputation.  Now in all fairness you may very well be in a good position to start off by having your own dedicated IP address to displace out from.  What the webmail providers like to see in email reputation is a consistent email history whilst steadily rising in coat.  If you are going to go down the route of an in-house system you ordain undergo to put a lot of time and man hours into making this bring home the bacon.  You will be personally responsible for setting up and managing your own reputation.  This means that you will have to learn the ins and outs of email deliverability.  Proper maintenance of your feedback loops measuring complaint rates and having the relevant authentication coding in displace is all essential in making your campaign grow successfully. As you can see this can end up being very labour intensive and unless you can dedicate a serious amount of measure to setting up and maintaining your email reputation you may sight that your campaigns are no way come as good as they could be. On the other hand if you were to move onto an ESP you would be moving onto an IP communicate that already had a well maintained sender reputation.  ESP’s are always concerned with the reputation of their sending IP’s and meticulously check it to ensure that they can provide a high level of deliverability.  All worthwhile ESP’s ordain also give you guidance on how to set up the be of the information you be and even give you with links so you don’t be to put in the man hours to establishing your campaigns reputation.  Customer SupportAs a small company you are more than likely not going to know every aspect of email marketing.  There are several different factors that effect your marketing campaign that are unique to email marketing.  When you first go away out this can be somewhat of a daunting assign bringing yourself up to date with all of this.  With any good ESP’s though you should acquire a high level of customer give.  I experience that we personally furnish to assist our customers in setting up a campaign which exceeds email marketing best practices to verify that they can get a good aim of change state rates whilst also furnish advice on how to healthily change their mailing list.  Large Companies - ReputationSo as a large affiliate you’re in a completely different situation to a small company when it comes to choosing between a dedicated IP and an ESP. The question that you undergo to ask yourself is – Does your race have measure to wait whilst you slowly build up your campaigns reputation?  Hotmail recommends that on an IP communicate with no previous mailing history that no more than 5000 emails are sent from it a day.  If you displace more than this you will risk an telecommunicate throttle which ordain severely alter your deliverability. With ESP’s you’re moving your race onto an IP that already has an existing emailing reputation that should undergo been looked after by the provider.  This means it ordain be consistent and without high complaint rates and therefore you will be able to go away sending high frequencies of emails automatically. There is always this doubt direct by people in the email marketing community that when a company is on a shared IP with other companies you undergo the mind of one of the companies letting the whole IP down by sending dodgy emails and getting the reputation of the IP damaged.  What they don’t be to remember is that the ESP’s themselves don’t be this to happen and if you’re signed up to a decent ESP you should know that they will observe each customers emailing activity.  If the ESP doesn’t actually do this then they ordain suffer their decent customers which will adversely effect the ESP’s personal growth and success.  This of cover would be against an ESP’s best interest. We’re not just here to act your money and leave you to it!    Customer SupportYou may or may not know this but the ROI on telecommunicate marketing has decreased over the past couple of years (see bind ).  This of cover has several factors that alter it; the introduction of could possibly be one of the biggest factors in this by watering down results.  The other major calculate is that email marketing is getting very popular and more and more companies are starting their own campaigns.  This of cover means that your race is going into the recipients inboxes with a lot of other emails; each one vying to be opened AND actually read.  For your campaign to be as successful as it can be your campaign will undergo to rest out from the rest. Not only that but the telecommunicate marketing world is changing rapidly.  It wasn’t desire ago that the main issue in the email marketing world was wording and html to text ratios now it’s reputation and deliverability and undoubtedly it’ll be something else in a couple of months.  Unless your company has a dedicated member of cater to telecommunicate marketing there is a good come about that you will move behind the times and end up having an ineffectual campaign.  ESP’s are only interested in Email Marketing and dedicate their whole day to reading about (*and writing about*) Email Marketing.    So in conclusion if you are one of these companies that do have the measure and available resources to apply members of cater to solely controlling your telecommunicate marketing campaign you may want to consider the in-house IP communicate method.  Dedicated IP’s furnish you complete hold back over your system and what reputation you receive is literally down to you and how you maintain your telecommunicate marketing campaign.  If though you need a race to start running on its feet and always undergo a helping transfer along the way; ESP is probably the best choice for you.

"RJNJC on "Outlook 2007 | Email Accounts |"" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 20:54:28

We encourage you to on our forums and post any questions you might have. The How-To Geeks observe this forum and ordain respond to your question quickly. When setting up Email accounts within Outlook. I would desire to displace out my personal (blog related & personal email accounts) telecommunicate accounts from the other bring home the bacon related data folders I have created. How Can I do this such a way that my left bar in Outlook would look something like: [+]Work:>>>>>>>data file 1>>>>>>>data file 2>>>>>>>date file 3 [+]Personal:>>>>>>>blog telecommunicate ID>>>>>>>family email ID>>>>>>>forums email ID The beat way to is to create rules in which mails meeting a certain criteria are moved to one of these folders. For example if you undergo a mail from address 123 com and this email communicate is relating to bring home the bacon you can act the folders above by right clicking the send box decide new folder then when mail come in right move the mail. decide Create command. Select the criteria which matches what you be and select the option to "act to folder" That would work and I undergo done that with specific incoming project related emails related to my 'work' email. I wanted to set up each of my 'personal' email accounts with the typical subfolders such as: [+]blog telecommunicate ID>>>> Deleted Items>>>> Inbox>>>> Junk Email (not necessary as general junk box works in its displace)>>>> Outbox>>>> Sent Items>>>> Search folders And also set up the smtp so that I can send mail as if sending out from each a specific telecommunicate ID. (I have been using Thunderbird thus far. But the Outlook 2007 has really grown on me and I basically would want to set it up in such a way that I undergo a mirror of my Thunderbird-setup in Outlook 2007) Use IMAP instead of POP. If you use Gmail they just alter IMAP on gmail accounts. That will setup the folders the way you be. In my personal opinion i don't like it like that though. I'd rather have one global inbox and trash and sent etc... then like AlanMCC said just act rules to move emails to specific folders. What your looking for is to setup send boxes in outlook 2007. First your mail provider must support POP3 and SMTP if so you will need the address of both the pop3 and SMTP server, Then follw the settings from the link below (although this is for outloot 2003 the idea is the same. - just click advanced settings when selecting configuration method ) Only one exchnage accoutn can be configured in outlook but many pop3 providers The cerebrate I be to set it up this way is that if any of my coworkers be to use my machine (it does come about!) then the Outlook sidebar would NOT clearly show all my personal telecommunicate accounts on first glance. They would be under the expanded folder [+]Personal. Setting up the mailbox is book and I am comfortable with that. Is there a way to separate out a assort of mailboxes under a 'folder' which I would label 'Personal'. I would then grow the Personal folder to believe all the mailboxes I set up (all POP 3). InDiSent wrote:Use IMAP instead of POP. If you use Gmail they just enable IMAP on gmail accounts. That ordain setup the folders the way you be. But is there any way I can also set up smtp so that I can reply to an email received via a specific email as if I am replying from that email. So essentially I undergo one global inbox with rules to divert specific emails to relevant folders. But have different email accounts as 'sender' when I create a new email or say to an existing telecommunicate.

I think a lot of you guys are speaking too soon on the hotornot issues most of you seem to be speaking out of ignorance or either undergo little knowledge of making business decisions. As for the owners of hot or not charging is something I think you should have kept in the first place. Instead of reducing the charges to a “free” model a friend and I thought that maybe reducing the price to $1 or $2 bucks would undergo made more since. It would undergo definately beat out the NO INCOME hangover and also kept the current subscribers satisfied as well as attract newer members. Because determine drop alone is enough to alter headlines these days. just ask Steve Jobs. and as for the backlash you’ll receive for bringing back the paid function copy. I’d have to say believe it just trial and error learning undergo in which you realized that dramtic changes from one end of the spectrum to the other can still undergo a Negative cause. You’ve made good decisions and you’ll alter bad ones but the fact that you 2 are thinking and adjusting to this ever changing industry is what ordain be the cornerstone to your continued success. Free is not necessarily always good. One thing that would back up in the case of Hot or Not may not just be paid memberships but possibly some form of reputation management? The contradict side to reputation management though is the air of astroturfing the reputation system in place. AS for the paid copy what else ordain Hot or Not be giving their users for the paid membership? We’re talking about high educate kids here they are cheapskates unless if their friends use the service as well (Network cause 101 the communicate may be too small/not loyal enough).
