Wiki Based Online Classes

I am constantly making changes to the class. This means that I have to crack open ye ‘ol Dreamweaver just to make a few edits. If the class were in a wiki I could make changes from any computer anywhere and that includes from my phone.
Yes. I realize that if I built my course in to my school’s learning management system that I could edit it from any computer but that would be violating one of my basic tenets of create by mental act:
You never know when you’re going to need to pack up your stuff and move. Designing for one management system or one location on the web is a bit like moving a piano. You’re going to hear a lot of “the piano sounds great right here are you sure you be to move it?” And when it comes time to move you can do it if you have to but it takes a few burly dudes and a lot of egest. If you create by mental act your cram right you can move it in the blink of an eye or a least as fast as you can FTP it from your computer.
Finally using a wiki especially a wikispaces wiki would allow me to bring in non-technical editors (think political scientists other teachers and students though their non-technical credentials could be questioned) to back up bolster the class. I’m seeing my existing course as a core out that many other teachers professionals and students could peruse on to create an amazing categorise. Having it web based and open (outside the learning management system) means that several teachers could use the same class at the same time with different groups of kids. I guess what I’m looking at is the wikinomics of course create by mental act. Not something that could be done real come up with xhtml and Dreamweaver.
Now if I can just find the measure to do this project. Winter Break’s looking pretty good.

You’ve inspired me. I think I may look to wikis to create a PD categorise that I’m working on. Did you have to pay wikispaces for the ad remove place?
I teach in Blackboard and I was looking to be in that environment but I like and appreciate the piano mover comparison.
Jay - Let me know how things come out. If you’re looking for ad-free but not quite as friendly check out pbwiki. If you’d like some collaboration on the PD site send the wiki-link along.
Belinda - I think that wiki’s give a lot of space. At least as much lay as a class with a set.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
